The Gift That Keeps On Giving – Keeping your talents engaged

One of the major issues that have grown over time is domestic violence. One in three women goes through domestic violence. Being a domestic violence advocate, I can say that about 85% of women and 15% of men go through this trauma.

It is very hard for a victim to come forward and talk about their trauma. It takes years for them to overcome it and continue with their normal lives. The saddest part of it is how a small percentage of cases come to light while so many victims are silenced and kept behind closed doors.

Life does not end:

I have been in this profession for a long time, and I have seen how devastated the victims are. They tend to give up on life and forget who they were before they went through this trauma.

Locking yourself up and letting go of life is not the way to go about things. Instead, working towards becoming someone new helps you feel like you have been reborn and have a purpose. Life will push you back, but it is your job to push back harder and come out as a better person.

Holding on to your talents:

While I might feel like you have lost everything and there is nothing to hold to, let me tell you that you can make use of your talents and come off a much stronger person.

Self-healing is the most effective; it requires an effort, but life seems happier and simpler once you have walked the hard road. Indeed, life will never be easy, but becoming something and making your talents can help you reach the stars and become a whole new person.

One way of doing that is by going out and meeting different people, socializing, and gaining perspective. Sitting at home never fixes things; it always pulls you down. Secondly, believe in yourself; that is one of the most important things to do. While the world might not support you, believing in yourself will help you achieve things you never thought could.
